Sorry - that's the song I'll always associate with Paul McCartney & Wings. I know, I know, it's not 'Band on the Run', or 'Mull of Kintyre' but it's a darn sight better than some of the other ones.
I've already written about our young, upwardly-mobile hawk police (a.k.a. YUHPPIES - the 'h' is silent) elsewhere, so I'm going to use this strip of Fred's to segue into something musical.
No, I'm not going to break into song. For one thing, I'm not running RealAudio, and second, I'm worried that the sound of me singing would remind y'all of Black Bolt practicing an aria in a china shop.
Nope, this one's going to be about theme songs. We all have them, or know people who do. Sometimes they're appropriate; other times, you'd dearly love to nominate certain titles for those around you. For example, single people at weddings always seem to enjoy subjecting the bride and goon to off-key serenades of Bon Jovi's 'You Give Love a Bad Name', Cat Stevens' 'The First Cut is the Deepest', or the J. Geils Band's 'Love Stinks'. (You've got to love the title on that last one - it's just so elegant in its simplicity.)
So, then - a list of super-heroes, and song titles which are either startlingly appropriate, or simply tasteless. You be the judge.
